Apple has introduced HomeView, a smart display designed to serve as a home control hub and a local computing center for Apple Intelligence and Siri AI. The device combines a 7-inch Liquid Retina screen with the A18 chip and a Secure Exclave security architecture, placing local processing and privacy at the center of its design.
HomeView features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display. Apple says the A18 chip and Secure Exclave architecture allow voice and visual data to be processed on the device, reducing reliance on cloud-based handling.
The system is built around a more conversational Siri AI. Linked with Apple Intelligence, it can draw on calendar, messages and in-app data to provide responses shaped by personal context, according to Apple. Facial recognition supports personalized home screens and content access for as many as six household members.
| Feature | Technical specification |
|---|---|
| Display system | 7-inch Liquid Retina display |
| Core chip | A18 chip with integrated Secure Exclave |
| Multiuser support | Facial recognition with independent profiles for up to six people |
| Audio system | Dual full-range drivers with spatial audio support |
| Connectivity standards | Matter and Works with Apple Home support |
HomeView is intended for desktop or wall placement. The desktop version includes a stainless steel hinge with smooth tilt adjustment, suited to kitchens, bedside tables and similar spaces.
For wall mounting, the device uses a dedicated Schneider Home bracket, a setup intended for entryways, hallways and other integrated locations. Apple says both self-installation and professional installation are supported, depending on the environment and wiring-concealment needs.
Security is central to HomeView's design. The Secure Exclave runtime environment isolates camera and microphone data from other parts of the system, Apple says. Facial recognition and personal data access also rely on this protected environment, with biometric and personal content processed locally.
Apple says the product aligns with its 2030 carbon-neutral goal, citing material choices and energy-efficiency design. The display supports Matter and Works with Apple Home, allowing compatible third-party smart-home devices to be managed through voice and touch.
